- Strawberrys doesn't come to Europe until the 18th century, which mean you can't use them in medieval recipes
- Currants should in this case probably be interpreted as raisins

but but but! depictions of wild strawberries are all over the margin embellishments in 15th century manuscripts!
Are you sure they are not... "smultron" - like tiny strawberries - which could (and still can) be found in abundance in the wild.
